The main central line and areas of most significance run through Princess Town, Agona and Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western region, Ho in the Volta region, Cape-Coast in the Central region as well as Koforidua and Asikuma in the Eastern region.
The eclipse would then be experienced in areas such as Half Assini; Busua; Atobiase; Bogoso and Prestea all in the Western Region and across the Volta Lake through Jasikan and Pampawie in the Volta Region. The South Limits start at 45 degrees South of the Gulf of Guinea through Saltpond; Winneba; Cape Coast, Accra; Tema; Ada; Woe; Keta and Dzodze then into Lome, Togo.
Scientific evidence suggests that, given the time of the year (around the dry harmattan season), the sky would be mostly clear. Also, wave heights would average between one and 1.5 metres along the Brazilian coast and over the southern Mediterranean near the Egyptian coast. But near the West African Coast and on the Mediterranean, and near Cyprus, the wave height will drop below a metre. |
